A motorcyclist was critically injured Saturday in a Taylorsville crash.

The 35-year-old motorcyclist was driving west on 4500 South when an SUV turned left onto the same road at 1170 West, said Unified Police Detective Ken Hansen. The driver of the SUV apparently did not see the motorcyclist, Hansen said.

About 1:30 p.m., the motorcycle struck the SUV and the motorcyclist was thrown about 30 feet. He was not wearing a helmet and was taken to the hospital in critical, but stable, condition, Hansen said.

Police are still investigating the crash.

No one in the SUV was reportedly hurt.
