Eden • Reduced water flow in the Powder Mountain area has led the state Division of Drinking Water to put a halt on Weber County construction until a new water source is approved. The Standard-Examiner of Ogden reports that an April 22 letter from the state agency asked Weber not to issue building permits for a planned development near a ski resort.

Powder Mountain Water & Sewer District told county planners it will serve the area.

But drinking water department director Kenneth Bousfield said the area's source of water, Pizzel Spring, has been flowing at a reduced volume, down from 70 gallons per minute to a rate of only 25 gallons per minute, according to monitoring in late 2014.
