Some 3,000 Utahns walked Saturday to raise money for multiple sclerosis research and programs and services for people with the disease in Salt Lake City's annual MS Walk.

An MS Walk news release said the event raised $211,000, more than organizers' $206,0000 goal.

Salt Lake City's walk is one of many that take place throughout the year around the country. MS Walk organizers say nationally, some 333,000 people participate each year.

Fundraising continues through May 18. To donate, visit walkms.org.
