Utah County emergency crews responded to paragliding accident near Point of the Mountain late Thursday morning.

Public safety dispatchers confirmed the 911 call reporting the crash, in which the 40-year-old paraglider, reportedly visiting from Anchorage, Alaska, suffered possible back injuries, came in at 9:37 a.m. Thursday.

Initial reports were that the crash occurred on the south side of the Traverse Mountains, near the Flight Park State Recreation Area, and that the victim's paraglider dropped about 60 feet.

The man was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
