Murray police have arrested two more suspects — including the alleged triggerman — bringing the number to three in a March convenience store holdup that left a clerk dead.

Murray police spokesman Kenny Bass on Thursday confirmed that 23-year-old Juan Andreas Zalazar — believed to have fired the shot that mortally wounded clerk David Marsh, 62, during the March 18 holdup of the Lee Mart, at 5905 S. 700 West — was nabbed as he arrived at a relative's home in South Salt Lake Wednesday afternoon.

Zalazar was being held without bail Thursday on suspicion of first-degree felony murder and aggravated robbery, also a first-degree felony.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Martin Castillo, alleged to have possibly been driving the getaway car, was traced through tips to West Palm Beach, Fla. Two Murray detectives arrested him there on Saturday, and are awaiting extradition of Castillo back to Utah, Bass said.

On April 14, police tracked 20-year-old Alexis Alan Garcia to a South Salt Lake residence and arrested him.

Garcia, a Mexican national, has been in the Salt Lake County Jail since then on first-degree felony murder and aggravated robbery counts, as well as numerous DUI, traffic and weapons-related misdemeanors.

Moments after the robbery, arriving customers became suspicious when they discovered an empty cash register tray in an aisle. They then found the bloodied Marsh on the floor behind the counter.

Video from a security camera show two young male suspects, their faces obscured by red bandanas and wearing dark hooded sweatshirts. Both carried handguns as they ran into the store and demanded money from Marsh.

He complied, but is thought to have thrown the cash register tray at them as they fled. That apparently is when one of the suspects turned and shot him in the chest with a .22-caliber handgun.
