Thunderstorms and rain showers will give Utah a midweek break from its near-perfect spring weather.

It's OK, though, country singer Gary Allan would tell you. On Wednesday, the clouds, like every storm, will eventually run out of rain.

The midweek precipitation comes after a Tuesday of sunshine and highs in the mid-70s along the Wasatch Front. Wednesday will dawn partly cloudy, building toward the rumbling thunder cells that will bring showers by afternoon. The wet, occasionally pyrotechnic weather will continue into early Thursday morning.

The thunderstorms won't skip southern Utah, either. After Tuesday's partly cloudy skies and highs in the low- to mid-80s, Utah's Dixie will settle into periodic showers and daytime temperatures in the upper-70s on Wednesday.

The Utah Division of Air Quality predicts "green," or healthy conditions for all monitoring stations through the midweek period.

The Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website pollen index as of Monday had mulberry and cedar allergens at "very high" levels, oak and maple "high," and sycamore and cottonwood "moderate."
