Two school buses full of high schoolers crashed Monday afternoon on Interstate 80, near Saltair.

The buses were traveling in a line on westbound I-80 when a construction vehicle merged into traffic, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce.

"The first [bus] had to stop quickly to avoid a collision with the construction vehicle," which led to the second bus rear-ending the front one, Royce said.

The collision occurred about 4 p.m.

All of the injuries are minor, Royce said, though he did not immediately know how many people were hurt or which school the students attend.

The crash remains under investigation.
