A Ballard man has been charged with shooting and killing his brother.

Craig A. Antonio, 27, was charged Friday in 8th District Court with murder, a first-degree felony. If convicted for the murder of his brother, Tyson Macartin Antonio, he could face up to life in prison.

On April 11, their mother called 911 after discovering Tyson Antonio, 23, dead at her home near 1400 S. 1500 East. When an officer arrived, he found injuries to Tyson Antonio's head and "believed the incident was criminal in nature," according to the charges.

Two days later, the autopsy revealed a bullet wound in his head. The medical examiner determined it was a homicide.

In an interview the same day, Craig Antonio said that he had argued with his brother and shot him in the head, according to the charges.

Craig Antonio's first court appearance is scheduled for Monday. He's already been booked in Uintah County Jail for a warrant on an unrelated matter, according to the charges.
