Logan, Utah • A Utah State University fraternity voluntarily suspended after a former chapter president was accused of sexually abusing a female partygoer has resumed activities.

The current president of Pi Kappa Alpha says the group has expelled 26-year-old Ryan Wray, who is charged in 1st District Court with one count of first-degree felony forcible sexual abuse for allegedly inappropriately touching a woman who passed out at a party in Logan.

Police say Wray had been assigned to keep watch over intoxicated people at a frat party just before spring break when the assault happened.

The fraternity expelled Wray and gave educational presentations on sexual abuse to all members before ending the approximately three-week suspension.

Fraternity President Alex Souvall told the Logan Herald Journal that the group will hold members accountable if any similar incidents happen in the future.

Wray is scheduled for an initial court appearance May 4. If convicted, he faces a potential prison term of up to life.
