A 15-year-old boy remained in critical condition Wednesday, the day after he was struck by an SUV in southeast Salt Lake City.

Police said the youth, whose identity was not released, was skateboarding in a parking lot at 2290 S. 1300 East, just before 3 p.m. Tuesday.

No citations were issued, but the incident remained under investigation Wednesday.

However, SLCPD Detective Dennis McGowan said there was no initial evidence that the 63-year-old male driver was distracted or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
