Tuesday afternoon power outages affected some 10,000 Utahns in Salt Lake, Rich, Weber and Millard counties, and forced a temporary closure of the 2nd District Court complex in Ogden.

Rocky Mountain Power said the wind-related failure of power lines in Weber County also affected about 2,000 clients in West Haven, Hooper and West Weber, within ZIP codes 84404, 84401 and 84315. Service was estimated to be restored by 6 p.m. Tuesday.

In South Jordan, nearly 3,000 customers were without power within the ZIP code area of 84095, with no estimate on when power would be restored.

More than 4,300 Garden City and Laketown customers were without power within the ZIP code areas of 84038 and 84028, with no estimate on when power would be restored.

In addition, about 750 customers in Magna, and 500 customers in the Delta area in Millard County were affected.
