The Duchesne County Sheriff's Office says the deaths of a Lehi couple, whose bodies were found this past weekend in their Fruitland vacation home, are being investigated as a case of murder-suicide.

In a statement, the sheriff's office said it appears that Gordon James Wright, 45, of Lehi, shot his wife, Milinda Wright, 36, and then shot and killed himself.

The couple had been reported missing by family members in Lehi, and police there learned of the Wrights' second home and asked Duchesne County deputies to check the scene.

About 8 p.m. Saturday, the deputies located the couple's vehicles outside the Fruitland residence, but there was no response from inside the home. A family member gave permission for deputies to enter the home, and the couple's bodies were then discovered.

Milinda Wright's body was located in the kitchen area with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to her head. Gordon Wright was found dead in the living room, also having sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

While the deaths remained under investigation Monday, detectives say it appears it was a case of murder-suicide.
