Alcohol is suspected as a factor in a fatal, wrong-way crash late Sunday night on Highway 201 near Magna.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said that Jennifer Lynn Taylor, 35, of Stansbury Park, was driving her white 2012 Ford Focus eastbound in the westbound lanes of the highway near 10,000 West. A Unified Police officer spotted the vehicle and attempted to catch up, but the crash occurred before he could do so.

It is estimated Taylor was traveling at speeds exceeding 90 mph when she collided head-on with a 2005 silver Subaru Legacy.

The Ford Focus rolled several times before coming to rest on the driver's side. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was dead at the scene.

The driver of the Subaru was wearing a safety belt and escaped with minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
