Get ready, Utah. The National Weather Service forecast for the week ahead looks something like a roller coaster ride of spring weather conditions.

The weekend's warm and sunny conditions are expected to continue through the day Monday, with temperatures starting to drop Monday night as a cold Pacific weather system moves in across most of the state.

That should bring strong southerly winds and scattered rain showers across most of Utah late Tuesday, followed by isolated evening thunderstorms, the NWS predicts.

Rain is expected to turn to snow overnight Tuesday, with several inches of accumulation possible in Utah's northern and central mountains.

Wednesday's forecast calls for continued rain showers and colder temperatures, with many readings below normal for mid-April.

By Thursday, forecaster expect the rains to dry up and temperatures should again begin to climb.
