Two college students were thrown from a rolling sport-utility vehicle in Box Elder County.

About 6:45 p.m. Friday, a silver Nissan Pathfinder's rear left tire blew while it was traveling southbound on Interstate 15. The driver lost control of the SUV and it went off the highway several miles north of Tremonton, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

Five college students from Rexburg, Idaho, were in the Pathfinder, and two unrestrained passengers were thrown as the SUV rolled, said Trooper Jalaine Hawkes. Their injuries range from "possibly serious to critical," UHP reported.

The driver and the two other passengers sustained "mostly minor injuries," according to UHP.

Ambulances took the injured people to Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton. From there, the two passengers who were thrown in the crash were moved to McKay-Dee Hospital.
