Police in West Jordan are asking for the public's help in finding five people wanted in a stabbing that left a man critically injured last month.

The five people — four men and a woman — were filmed by a surveillance camera at a Maverik convenience store near 2700 W. 9000 South about 7 a.m. Feb. 5, shortly before three of the men allegedly stabbed a 25-year-old man who lived nearby.

Before the victim was stabbed, part of the group approached him about an argument, but the victim told them there had been a misunderstanding, said West Jordan police Sgt. Dan Roberts. The victim later told police he did not know the people. Surveillance footage from the Maverik shows those people "rendezvousing" with friends in the store, Roberts said.

Shortly after they left, the victim arrived in a nearby clinic, seeking treatment for stab wounds. He and others in his home said three men had gone into the home and stabbed him multiple times, Roberts said. The victim suffered critical injuries.

Witnesses' descriptions of the three assailants matched three of the five people in the surveillance footage. The woman and one of the men did not go inside the victim's home during the stabbing and are believed to have been waiting in the group's car, a four-door Toyota passenger car with Arizona license plates BKS2199, Roberts said.

Roberts said he did not know the nature of the argument the subjects discussed with the victim.

Anyone with information about the stabbing may call police at 801-840-4000 and reference case number 15H001741.
