Farmington • A 77-year-old Davis County man accused of nude sunbathing in his back yard pleaded guilty to lewdness charges Tuesday.

Myron Lee Kipp of Farmington pleaded guilty to class A misdemeanor lewdness in front of a child and class B misdemeanor lewdness in front of an adult.

The pleas will be held in abeyance, meaning the charges will be dismissed if he complies with certain terms. In Kipp's case, his attorney said, he has agreed to quit sunbathing naked in his back yard.

A review hearing was set for March 22. As part of a plea deal, five similar lewdness charges were dismissed Tuesday.

According to a probable cause statement, a police officer was called to Kipp's home on March 5, 2014, after witnesses saw the man nude outside.

Three adults and four children at a nearby church parking lot were able to see through the man's chain link fence, police said, and saw him naked. Kipp's fence does not have privacy slats, police noted in court documents.

When confronted, the nude Kipp told the officer that "he was sunbathing and that it was his property and he could do it if he wanted," according to the probable cause statement.
