Police are hunting for a man who robbed a woman at knifepoint late Wednesday night in downtown Salt Lake City.

Detectives say the 30-year-old woman was getting into her car about 10:30 p.m. at 450 S. West Temple when the suspect came up behind her, held the knife to her side and demanded her money.

After she complied, the suspect — described as a 5-foot-10 white man in his 30s, with light-colored facial hair and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, baseball cap and dark jeans — ran off into the night.

The woman was uninjured.
