An 80-year-old man, ejected from his car during a crash on Interstate 15 just north of St. George, has died of his injuries.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said Lynn Wilde, of Leeds, had died in the hospital Tuesday night, several hours after the crash.

The man was driving a northbound Suzuki Side Kick, without his seatbelt attached, when he apparently lost control on the snowy, icy roadway. Indeed, troopers arrived to find that several cars had slid off the road, but Wilde's cehicle plunged off an embankment, with the victim being ejected as his car rolled twice.

The crash remained under investigation.
