Rescuers on Thursday afternoon reached an injured snowmobiler in Cache County.

Cache County deputies were notified about the injured man 11:30 a.m. Thursday, said Deputy Matt Bilodeau.

The snowmobiler was in Arbs Basin, which is in the far southeast corner of the county, according to a Cache County Sheriff's Office news release. Bilodeau did not know how the man was injured or the nature of his injuries.

The wintry weather would not permit an air rescue by medical helicopter, so rescuers from nearby Rich County searched for the man. When they reached him on Thursday afternoon, they administered first aid and were using a sled to help him out of the basin.

An ambulance was waiting for the team on the Weber County side of the basin to take him to an Ogden hospital, Bilodeau said. He did not anticipate the team to make it off the mountain until about 8 p.m.
