The public is invited to join Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker, Police Chief Chris Burbank and a panel of experts for the first in a series of community dialogues on use of lethal force Wednesday evening.

The town hall meeting is from 6-8 p.m. in the Tessman Auditorium of the Salt Lake City Library Main Branch, 210 E. 400 South.

Salt Lake City officials say they recognize a concern in the community surrounding officer-involved shootings and other use of force issues.

City officials believe the series will be a constructive way to promote conversation among interested stakeholders to assess perceived needs, problems, and hopes for the future on this challenging issue.
