West Valley City and Unified Fire Authority crews quickly snuffed a brush fire late Friday morning near Decker Lake and Interstate 215.

Public safety dispatchers say the 911 call reporting the blaze, in a field off of 2660 South and northbound I-215, came in shortly before 10 a.m. The right lanes of the freeway were closed for about an hour while the flames were doused.

The cause of the fire, how many acres burned, or whether it caused any property damage, were not immediately known.

No injuries were reported.
