Police said Wednesday that they had recovered a car stolen during a Millcreek home invasion, but the crowbar-wielding female suspect who took the vehicle remained at large.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said a 27-year-old man found behind the wheel of the 2009 Honda Pilot was arrested by Sandy police on Tuesday during a traffic stop near 7400 S. State St. The driver was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle.

Still on the run, however, was the woman in her early 20s, about 5-foot-5 and of medium build, who on Monday walked through the front door of a home in the area of 3600 S. Highland Drive, and confronted a father and son with a crowbar.

The suspect — further described as having brown hair, nose and lip piercings, wearing black jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt — threatened the two unless they handed over keys to the car parked outside.

It was uncertain what relationship the arrested male driver may have with the female suspect.

UPD detectives are still trying to identify the woman and ask anyone who has information to call them at 385-468-9815.
