Power has been restored to more than 9,000 Rocky Mountain Power customers in West Valley City and Taylorsville who were without service for a time Thursday afternoon.

The outages, caused by the loss of a substation, affected homes and businesses — including the Valley Fair Mall — within ZIP codes 84119 and 84129.

The Valley Fair Mall was reportedly without power.

Power was restored shortly after 4 p.m., according to Rocky Mountain Power's website.
