A man found in a Salt Lake City street died of a gunshot Saturday night.

Police worked Saturday night to figure out who shot the 24-year-old. Salt Lake City police Lt. Rich Brede said a woman passing by about 7 p.m. found the man in the street near 1220 E. Parkway Ave., near 2400 South. The man had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and died at a hospital.

Brede said a handgun was found with the man, but no neighbors reported hearing a gunshot. However, police located a blood trail leading to Elizabeth Street — about one-quarter mile west from where the man was found.

Brede said the man did not live in Salt Lake City. His name was not disclosed Saturday.
