FrontRunner commuter trains now have some extra places to sit: Each now has at least two public restrooms. Most trains have three, with one restroom on each bi-level Bombardier car.

Until this week, trains had only one restroom on each train open to the public because the Utah Transit Authority had only one sewage dumping station for trains, a UTA blog said. Other restrooms on train cars were used to store emergency supplies.

But customers asked for more restrooms.

So over the past several months, additional dumping stations were added. Also, special cabinets were installed on trains to house emergency supplies.

"We listen to our customers and try to provide the best possible traveling experience. Our FrontRunner ridership has increased dramatically, so upgrading the restroom facilities was a request we saw a real need for," said UTA spokesman Remi Barron.

UTA also noted on its blog that the extra restrooms may give new meaning to its old 1980s advertising slogan of "Go Go, Go UTA."
