Salt Lake City police have identified a woman who fatally struck by an SUV as she attempted to cross a Rose Park street Tuesday night.

SLCPD Detective Dennis McGowan said that Jannelle Johnson, 65, was walking in a crosswalk near 900 West and 700 North about 6:15 p.m. when she was hit.

The 30-year-old female driver of a northbound Chevy Blazer apparently did not see the woman, who was dressed in dark clothing at the poorly lit intersection.

No citations were immediately issued. The incident remained under investigation on Wednesday.
