When a knife-wielding man approached the counter of a northwest Salt Lake City Papa John's Pizza store, he didn't have slicing a pepperoni pie in mind.

It was lettuce, as in the kind with pictures of dead presidents, the suspected demanded, received and fled with on foot from the store at 1240 W. 600 North about 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the suspect — described as a Latino male in his late teens, tall and slender and wearing a hood over his head and a mask — threatened a clerk before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
