Cedar City police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who killed a man in a Home Depot parking lot Monday — and they believe it was no accident.

The victim was struck by a car outside the store at 1518 S. Providence Center Drive about 7 p.m. The driver is believed to be a white man with dark hair who was wearing a bandana that covered his face. And, according to Sgt. Clint Pollock of the Cedar City Police Department, “it is believed that the suspect intentionally struck the victim.”

The victim — a 37-year-old Cedar City man whose name has not been released — was taken to Cedar City Hospital, where he later died.

The suspect was driving a gray or silver older-model Dodge Stratus with no license plates. The passenger side rear tire is either a spare or missing a hubcap.

Anyone who sees the car or has any information about the driver is asked to call 911 or Cedar Communications at 435-586-2955.
