22-year-old drowns at Yuba State Park

A 22-year-old Utah man died Saturday after falling off a personal watercraft at Yuba State Park.

Around 9:30 a.m., state park officials learned two people were thrown off a watercraft in the lake. One resurfaced, but the other didn’t, according to a news release.

Law enforcement arrived and used sonar to scan for that person in the water. The Springville man’s body was found about 5:30 p.m.

Police are still investigating what happened and have not released the man’s name.

The park is located off of Interstate 15 about 25 miles south of Nephi.
