Ski Utah’s improved app aims to get more skiers taking the bus to resorts from Provo to Ogden

(Courtesy Ski Utah) Ski Utah has improved its app to increase ridership of UTA ski bus lines, which will begin operating Saturday, Dec. 16.

As the Utah Transit Authority begins operating its ski bus program Saturday, Ski Utah has improved the Ride the Bus tab on its app to help those who want to ride up to their favorite ski area.

With the air quality bad right now in Wasatch Front valleys, and canyons becoming increasingly crowded, riding buses to ski resorts helps the environment and can be a more relaxing way to get to the slopes.

Buses operate from Provo to Ogden; the program includes new service to Snowbasin and Powder Mountain in the Ogden area.

The Ride the Bus tab allows any user to plug in a location to find the fastest public transit route to any resort.

Ski bus riders can also buy bus fare in advance using the free UTA GoRide app. They need to purchase two tickets to make a round trip. It is possible to buy tickets for multiple tickets. Activate the ticket before riding and show the screen to the bus driver as proof of fare. Visit rideuta.com for more information.

“Ski Utah is thrilled to have updated our mobile app to include UTA’s Ski Bus services in hopes to assist both locals and visiting skiers and riders in getting to and from the resort,” says Nathan Rafferty, CEO/president of Ski Utah. “This addition only helps strengthen the great partnership Ski Utah and the resorts have with UTA. We look forward to seeing continued growth in ridership during the 2017-18 season.”
