16-year-old in stable condition after bullet pierces hand, leg at Sandy residence

A 16-year-old boy was in stable condition after a bullet went through his hand and hit his leg at a Sandy condominium on Wednesday morning.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the 11 a.m. shooting, which happened near 9000 South and 700 West, said Sandy Police Sgt. Jason Nielsen. It was unclear if the teen was holding the gun, or if someone else fired it.
