A man accused of multiple rapes of a 7-year-old girl remained in the Iron County jail on $200,000 cash bail and a federal immigration hold.
The 32-year-old Mexican national, who reportedly had been deported previously on unrelated charges, purportedly was in the United States illegally during the past six months during which the sexual abuse of the child allegedly took place.
The suspect, who was arrested on Sunday, was booked on suspicion of two first-degree felony counts of child rape.
