Man shot in downtown Salt Lake City's Rio Grande area

A 32-year-old man was shot on the corner of 200 South and 500 West on Thursday night.

A nearby officer heard “four to five gunshots” and saw one man on the ground and another running away just before 10 p.m., according to Salt Lake City police Lt. Dave Cracroft.

The injured man is in critical condition at University Hospital, Cracroft said, and police are searching for the suspect.
