An 88-year-old Logan man may lose his license to drive after colliding with a Utah Highway Patrol cruiser in Sardine Canyon.

UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said the elderly driver's license status was expected to be reviewed after he apparently became confused during a Monday evening snowstorm on Highway 91, traveling north in the southbound lanes before crashing into the cruiser about 6:10 p.m.

At the time, the trooper was responding to a series of snowstorm-related, non-injury crashes in the canyon near Sherwood Hills. Despite having his cruiser's emergency lights flashing, the man's 1996 Brown Cadillac sideswiped the cruiser before coming to a stop.

Both the driver and the trooper were wearing seat belts. Neither was hurt.

In addition to the driver's license review, other possible charges are being considered by the Cache County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating the accident.
