A partial roof collapse at a vacant downtown Salt Lake City building caused no injuries Tuesday morning.

Salt Lake City Fire Department dispatchers say the incident was reported just before 8 a.m. at 44 W. 300 South.

By 8:45 a.m., the scene had been cleared and the matter turned over to city safety inspectors.

Fire Battalion Chief Karl Steadman said the weight of water collecting on the roof initially was believed to be a factor in the collapse.
