The Utah Highway Patrol is looking for a man who shot at a vehicle in Box Elder County in an alleged road rage incident.

A pickup truck driver reported to UHP officials that someone shot at him multiple times as he neared the Perry Port of Entry in Box Elder County on Interstate 15 on Friday evening. The man wasn't sure if his vehicle had been hit until he stopped in Weber County and a bullet had struck his tailgate.

UHP officials say the man who fired at the other driver was driving a tan or brown Chevrolet Astro van. The van also reportedly sideswiped another vehicle, breaking off the van's driver's side mirror, according to UHP.

The man who reported the shooting was unable to provide a license plate number, so police are asking if anyone saw the incident unfold between Willard and Weber County between 5:40 and 6 p.m. on Friday to call Utah Highway Patrol.

UHP is also asking for tips from anyone who has seen a tan van missing a driver's side mirror.
