Salt Lake City police are looking for a vehicle that struck an 11-year-old boy.

The vehicle hit the boy near the intersection of 800 S. 900 West about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, said police Detective Richard Chipping. The detective could not say which direction the vehicle was traveling, or whether the boy had been trying to cross the street.

The vehicle was red, and possibly an SUV, Chipping said.

The boy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, the detective said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Salt Lake City police at 801-799-3000.
