Provo police credit tips generated by the department's social media sites for the arrest of a suspect in the Wednesday robbery of the Utah Community Credit Union.

Shortly after the 9 a.m. Wednesday holdup of the credit union, located at 1501 S. 40 East, Police Lt. Brandon Post was able to release images from the business' video surveillance camera.

Those images were released on the PPD's Twitter and Facebook sites, and then re-published by various news agencies.

Tipsters identified the suspect as a 25-year-old Provo man. Police officers found him at home Wednesday night, and he subsequently agreed to be questioned at PPD headquarters, he reportedly confessed to the robbery.

He was being held without bail Thursday in the Utah County jail on suspicion of second-degree felony counts of robbery and possession of a controlled substance.
