A southeast Salt Lake City convenience store was robbed by a gunman early Wednesday morning.

Police say no shots were fired and no one was hurt, but the suspect — described as a 5-foot-10, thinly built white male wearing a dark hooded jacket, blue bandanna and a black watch cap — made off with an unspecified amount of cash.

The suspect entered the 7-Eleven at 2917 S. Highland Drive shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday, approached the clerk and demanded money. He then fled the store on foot.

A subsequent search for the suspect of the immediate area with police dogs was unsuccessful.
