Salt Lake City police say ice on a upper-level parking structure ramp was believed a prime factor in an SUV's two-story plunge late Thursday night.

The accident occurred 11:14 p.m. Thursday at the Wal-Mart parking lot, 350 W. Hope Ave. A 31-year-old woman and her 15-year-old daughter were leaving the structure when their car slid on the icy ramp and broke through a concrete rail, rolling off the edge and landing on its side, police said.

Mother and daughter were transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
