Unified Police Department officers were looking for a 17-year-old who allegedly stabbed another teen multiple times in Midvale on Thursday night.

Dispatchers received a call at 6:11 p.m. about the incident at 7200 S. State St., and an ambulance transported the 15-year-old victim to Intermountain Medical Center in serious condition.

UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said the suspect, victim and another teenage boy had been taken to a counseling session in the area by a caseworker. As they left the session with the caseworker, the suspect and victim got into a fight, which led to the stabbing, he said.

The 17-year-old ran south after the incident, Hoyal said.
