Public input is being sought at several meetings to shape the master plan for Salt Lake County's parks and recreation facilities.

"Salt Lake County's rapid growth and development make it critical that we seize opportunities for creating parks and preserving open space," said Mayor Ben McAdams, noting that planners expect to complete a 10-year plan for the division sometime next year.

Meetings, which will run from 6:30-8 p.m., are planned for:

• Thursday at Taylorsville Library, 4870 S. 2700 West.

• Nov. 13 at Northwest Community Center, 1300 W. 300 North.

• Nov. 18 at Millcreek Library, 2266 E. Evergreen Ave.

• Nov. 19 at Riverton Library, 12877 S. 1830 West.
