Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the man who allegedly robbed a Layton bank.

At 9 a.m. Thursday, a man entered the Wells Fargo bank at 380 E. Gentile St. and passed a note to the teller, according to the police. The note demanded money and indicated that the man had a gun, though the teller did not see a weapon.

The suspect left on foot. No one was hurt in the robbery.

Police describe the man was 20 to 35 years old, white, 6 feet tall with a thin build. He had very short hair and was wearing a long-sleeve grey shirt, jeans and dark sunglasses. He was also carrying a light-colored bag with a dark strap over his shoulder, according to the police.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Layton police at 801-544-1241.

Layton High School was on lockout for a short time, since the bank is nearby.
