Ogden police forced entry to an apartment early Monday morning and subdued a woman who allegedly had abducted and slashed her estranged boyfriend and was threatening further harm to him.

Police Lt. Tim Scott said officers had rushed to the apartment, in a complex at 2543 Madison, just before 4 a.m. Monday. When negotiation efforts failed to convince the 24-year-old woman to come out and surrender, officers broke down the door and arrested her.

The 5-foot-7, 210-pound woman was booked into the Weber County jail on suspicion of domestic violence, aggravated assault and kidnapping.

Her boyfriend was taken by ambulance to the hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds to his hands and neck.

Ogden police continued to investigate the incident, including what had been the genesis of the altercation.
