With the summer vacation season now upon us, parents sometimes look for things to do that are close to home.

One solution would be to obtain a Visit Salt Lake Connect Pass, which offers discounts to 13 of Salt Lake County's most popular urban and mountain destinations.

The pass can be purchased for one, two, three or 365 days and must be used on consecutive days. The passes can be purchased at http://www.VisitSaltLake.com/connectpass.

Cost for one day is $32 for adults, $28 for seniors over 65 and $26 for children 3 to 12. Two-day passes go for $48, $43 and $40. Three-day passes sell for $60, $54, and $50. The year-long passes sell for $90, $85 and $80.

Participating connect pass attractions include The Leonardo, Discovery Gateway, Red Butte Garden, Snowbird, Thanksgiving Point, Museum of Ancient Life, Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Utah Olympic Park, Hogle Zoo, the Lion House Pantry Restaurant (lunch or dinner), Clark Planetarium, Tracy Aviary, This is the Place Heritage Park and Natural History Museum of Utah.

"You'll see everything from elephants and apes to sweeping mountain scenery, experience world-class museums to historic Temple Square, and more, and you'll see it all at your own pace," said Scott Beck, president and CEO of Visit Salt Lake. "Purchase passes, send passes to friends and family, and track pass use from your mobile phone—your pass is always accessible online, and it's always up to date."

The pass is activated the first time it is used and remains active for the number of consecutive days purchased. They must be used within 90 days of purchase. Pass holders may visit as many attractions as they like while their pass is active, but each person must have a pass and use is limited to one visit at each participating attractions.

Group rates are available for 20 or more passes.
