Looking to do something different on President's Day Weekend?

Kanab will be hosting its annual Balloons and Tunes Roundup that features hot air balloons against the red rock of Kanab as well as a battle of the bands

Organizers say the hot air balloons will launch each morning at 7:30 a.m. with the backdrop of the Vermilion Cliffs.

The Battle of the Bands will be held Friday and Saturday on North Main Street. Bands will be playing free on an outdoor stage all day with the top three bands receiving prize money. Bands that wish to compete can call Vicki Hopper at 435-644-3696.

There will also be a street fair on Main Street with vendors selling food, art and one-of-a-kind crafts. Should the weather be bad, the event will be moved inside.

On Saturday night, the top three bands will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be a Balloon Glow at 7 p.m. on Center Street.

For information on the event, a full schedule or vendor or band applications, log on to http://www.balloonsandtunesroundup.com. Applications are due January 27.
