Disneyland fans — and there are a lot of them in Utah — can look back to the future January 20 when the popular Main Street Electrical Parade returns.

There will actually be a special premier of the parade on January 19 for Disneyland visitors who wish to purchase an after-hours ticket.

The parade made its debut at Disneyland in 1972 and has been a staple at many other Disney theme parks around the world. Its last Disneyland performance was in November of 1996, though it was available at the adjacent California Adventure park until 2010.

It was performed more than 3,600 times for more than 75 million guests during its original run at Disneyland.

The parade will feature music and floats from a variety of Disney stories with music and parade floats covered in nearly half a million twinkling lights.

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy lead the way with Cinderella, Peter Pan, Snow White, Pinocchio and Alice in Wonderful among those appearing.
