Sandy City, Salt Lake County, the state of Utah and more than 30 companies are sponsoring the first Adventure Week that runs Saturday through April 9.

The event includes more than 30 outdoor events in Sandy City and along the Wasatch Front.

Events include river floats, yoga, mountain climbing, an equestrian ride, trail runs, skiing, criterium bicycle races, mini cycling, mini velodrome cycling, slack line and zip fly sledding.

Activities are available for all ages and fitness levels.

The Wasatch Mountain film Festival and Cotopaxi Questival 24-hour Adventure Race are being included in Adventure Week.

The film festival opens Thursday.

The Cotopaxl Questival is a 24-hour adventure race where teams of two to six people complete outdoor challenges to win trips, gear and more. About 4,000 participants are expected.

Adventure Week will end April 8 and 9 at the South Towne Expo Center with the Adventure and Gear Fest. It is an interactive adventure festival and outdoor gear sale for the public, spotlighting over 100 local and national retailers, manufacturers and non-profits in active outdoor sports, outdoor photography and adventure travel.

Other activities include a Fly Fishing Expo this weekend at the South Towne Expo Centers, a trail improvement project, a float of the Jordan River, the Utah Bike Summit Conference, a ski demo day at Alta and fun runs.
