Families looking for something free and fun to do over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend might want to consider a visit to the Bear River Bird Refuge west of Brigham City.

The visitor center located just west of the second Brigham City exit is hosting family-friendly activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

They include turkey-themed film screenings, games and crafts.

Those looking to make a day of it might take time to do some bird watching on the 12-mile loop west of the visitor center. The swan migration is happening so there should be plenty of the beautiful birds to see.

They might also want to stop at the Hill Air Force Base Aerospace Museum to see dozens of aircraft. Admission there is free as well.

Or they could go to Crystal Hot Springs for a soak or to enjoy the water slides in Honeyville just north of Brigham City.
